Juliana Saccucci began her career as a medical interpreter in 2000 and soon after she pursued the legal certification, earning her designation as a Certified Court Interpreter in February 2011 for English and Spanish.

Since becoming certified, Juliana has worked exclusively in legal settings, where accuracy, neutrality, and confidentiality are critical. Interpreting in the legal field is not only her profession — it is her passion.

Her professional background includes a wide range of legal and related proceedings, both in person and remotely.

Beyond her courtroom work, Juliana previously owned and operated an interpreting agency for more than 20 years, where she supervised and coordinated over 150 professional interpreters. In this role, she also provided formal training in key areas of professional practice, including the code of ethics of the interpreter and modes of interpretation.

This combination of frontline courtroom experience and long-term agency leadership provides Juliana with a deep understanding of both the legal process and the professional standards required for high-quality interpretation.

Su trayectoria profesional incluye una amplia variedad de procedimientos legales y relacionados, tanto de manera presencial como remota.

Además de su labor en los tribunales, Juliana fue propietaria y operadora de una agencia de interpretación durante más de 20 años, donde supervisó y coordinó a más de 150 intérpretes profesionales. En este rol, también impartió capacitación formal en áreas clave de la práctica profesional, incluyendo las reglas de la ética profesional del intérprete y modos de interpretación.

Esta combinación de experiencia directa en las salas judiciales y el extenso liderazgo en la gestión de intérpretes le otorga a Juliana un profundo conocimiento tanto del proceso legal como de los estándares profesionales requeridos para una interpretación de alta calidad.

As a Certified Court Interpreter who does on-site work in South Carolina, I abide by the Supreme Court of South Carolina Rule 511 

RULES OF PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT FOR COURT INTERPRETERS

Interpreters shall render a complete and accurate interpretation, or sight translation, without altering, omitting or adding anything to what is stated or written, and without explanation or summarization. The interpreter shall preserve the nuances and level of formality, or informality, of the speech.

Interpreters shall accurately and completely represent their certifications, training, and pertinent experience.

Interpreters shall be impartial and unbiased and shall refrain from conduct that may give an appearance of bias. Interpreters shall disclose any real or perceived conflict of interest.

Interpreters shall conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the dignity of the court and shall be as unobtrusive as possible.

Interpreters shall protect the confidentiality of all privileged and other confidential information.

Interpreters shall not publicly discuss, report, or offer an opinion concerning a matter in which they are, or have been, engaged even when that information is not privileged or required by law to be confidential.

Interpreters shall limit themselves to interpreting or translating, and shall not give legal advice, express personal opinions to individuals for whom they are interpreting or engage in any other activities which may be construed to constitute a service other than interpreting or translating while serving as an interpreter.

Interpreters shall assess at all times their ability to deliver their services. When interpreters have any reservation about their ability to satisfy an assignment competently, they shall immediately convey that reservation to the presiding judge.

Interpreters shall report to the proper judicial authority any effort to impede their compliance with any law, any provision of these Rules, or any other judicial policy governing court interpreting and legal translating.

Interpreters shall continually improve their skills and knowledge and advance the profession through activities such as professional training and education, and interaction with colleagues and specialists in related fields.
